For solar financing providers, protecting their high-value investments in renewable energy assets necessitates moving beyond a “set it and forget it” mentality around asset management towards proactive asset performance management, as unprotected solar assets are not without their risks. 

For example, the kWh Analytics 2025 Solar Risk Assessment reveals an alarming average underperformance of 8.6% across PV sites nationwide, alongside rising operational issues like hot spots and projected power loss due to extreme weather.
